Our Mission
Kate Amato Foundation is dedicated to finding safer and more effective treatments for children with cancer by funding innovative pediatric cancer research that accelerates the pace of progress and saves young lives.
Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children. For those who survive, the side effects of treatment can cause severe, long-term health problems including organ damage and secondary cancers. During Kate's illness, we learned how severely underfunded research is for pediatric cancers, resulting in outdated, toxic treatments and low survival rates for children. To honor Kate's life and continue the fight for other children, we are determined to educate, advocate, and fundraise for research. To date, Kate Amato Foundation has funded $475,000 in grants to support groundbreaking pediatric cancer research at some of the leading Immunotherapy and Cancer Genomics labs in the country. Thank you for helping us find better treatments for children with cancer!
